7 Southern Giraffes

7 Southern Giraffes was named in honor of me LISA MARIE... My story began when I was 8 years old and diagnosed with Type 1, Juvenile Diabetes. Learning to give myself shots on a daily basis was difficult but I had a lot of help along the way. The daily shots and watching my diet made it hard to feel normal. I worked hard in school and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Psychology. In my forties life became a challenge... I had to start dialysis for 5 hours 3 days a week... During this period I had 2 cornea transplants, a kidney transplant, and an amputation of my right leg. My 6 nieces and nephews would come over and cheer me up by spending time with me. After fighting for 47 years I went to heaven on April, 25th, 2014. This store was opened by my 2 sister-in-laws to represent ME and my six nieces and nephews. My favorite animal was the giraffe so they came up with 7 Southern Giraffes....
